Charlie Waller Memorial Trust (2015-2017)
School Mental Health Network
Following a successful bid to Health Education England (Health Education Innovation Fund) the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust provided schools in Wiltshire and Swindon with a programme of mental health training and support.
Working with Dr. Pooky Knightsmith we put together a programme of cpd events offered during 2016 and 2017.
This complements existing work, as part of Wiltshire's Young People's Mental Health Transformation Plan.
The purpose of this project is the development of support for pastoral staff in identifying and supporting issues of mental health, including recognising early signs of common mental health problems, providing support between appointments, and using basic therapy skills.
The project includes:
- 10 face-to-face sessions for school staff
- 3 local network meetings, to share access and learning
- 20 online webinars
Wiltshire schools can still join the
Wiltshire cpd events for school staff
These sessions, from January-March 2017, were free for all schools in the Wiltshire LA and surrounding areas.
Mental health online learning sessions
Free 30 minute online learning events took place during 2016 & 2017.
Mental health book club
You can still sign up to join the free CWMT mental health book club here.
Once a term you will receive a free book, often with accompanying resources and learning opportunities.
