Five to Thrive: Attachment, Trauma and Resilience Training

In Wiltshire we are promoting a flexible, attachment-based approach to positive parenting called “Five to Thrive” that focuses on a set of five key principles – talk, play, relax, cuddle and respond. The principles are easy to convey and ensure a consistent multi-agency approach which we know families appreciate.

Exciting training opportunity: Five to Thrive: Attachment, Trauma informed practice and Resilience (FTT:ATR)  training took place on 3rd March 9.30am - 4.30pm (Town Hall, Chippenham) with follow up 1/2 day session 24th March (Council Offices, Chippenham).

To book and for further details see Right Choice.

This training aims to upskill staff working in schools and school based services across Wiltshire to support secure attachment, promote self-regulation and resilience and to develop a trauma informed practice. The course will develop knowledge, skills and confidence around trauma informed practice based on the most up-to-date evidence base.

Registering on this training to become a Five-to-Thrive Champion has the following commitment:

  • Attend 1.5 days of training (1 full day plus ½ day consolidation)
  • Need to complete 10 hrs E-learning to support the training
  • To be active members of a local champions network
  • To share and advocate the FTT:ATR approach within their teams

Please ensure your manager is able to support you with this commitment.  Further dates available in 2020 – see flyer opposite for details.
