Charlie Waller Memorial Trust (from 2015)
School Mental Health Network
Following a successful bid to Health Education England (Health Education Innovation Fund) the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust is able to support schools in Wiltshire and Swindon with a programme of mental health training and support.
Working with Dr. Pooky Knightsmith we have put together a programme of cpd events offered during 2016 and 2017.
This complements existing work, as part of Wiltshire's Young People's Mental Health Transformation Plan.
The purpose of this project is the development of support for pastoral staff in identifying and supporting issues of mental health, including recognising early signs of common mental health problems, providing support between appointments, and using basic therapy skills.
The project includes:
- 10 face-to-face sessions for school staff
- 3 local network meetings, to share access and learning
- An online pathway through MindEd
- 20 online webinars/Q&As recorded and available free
Wiltshire schools can also join the
Wiltshire cpd events for school staff
These sessions, from January 2017, are free for all schools in the Wiltshire LA and surrounding areas.
Details of events now open for booking can also be found here.
