Parenting Programmes

Wiltshire Council provides the Triple P - Positive Parenting Programme.

Triple P is designed to give parents the skills they need to raise confident, healthy children and teenagers and to build stronger family relationships. Triple P doesn’t tell people how to parent. Rather, it gives parents simple and practical strategies they can adapt to suit their own values, beliefs and needs. The benefits can be dramatic and long-lasting.

Triple P Groups

Triple P and Time Out for Parents Groups - group cancellations in response to Coronavirus

In response to current government advice to stop non-essential contact with others, a decision has been taken to cancel all Triple P and Time Out for Parents groups that are currently running, or due to start soon.

The following Triple P groups are now cancelled with immediate effect:-

  • Bemerton Heath, Salisbury (began on 11th February 2020)
  • The Nadder Centre, Tisbury (due to start on 22nd April 2020)
  • Springfield Community Centre, Corsham (due to start on 27th April 2020)

All parents and carers attending, or due to attend any of these groups will be notified individually. All parents and carers who have been affected by these cancellations will be offered alternative opportunities to attend a group once the situation regarding the Coronavirus has returned to near normal; we don't anticipate this being sooner than the autumn this year however.

We are still accepting referrals for future groups so please continue to share information about Triple P and Time Out for Parents with parents and carers. And do get in touch if I can be of any help regarding this or with any questions.

The seven sessions are written by parents and professionals with input from many different families with experience of children with special needs. They aim to help support you in meeting your child’s needs, focusing on children aged between 3 to 11 years with a disability or special needs, particularly those who have learning, developmental and behavioural issues.

A medical diagnosis is not required for a parent or carer to attend and the groups are free of charge. These groups are being offered in partnership with the Wiltshire Parent Carer Council.
