Healthy Me programme launches in Wiltshire

Monday 5th September 2016

Healthy Me is a 10 week programme for children aged seven to 11 years who may be less active than recommended and above their healthy weight range.

The programme builds on the success of the previous SHINE programme which helped 107 families.

Young people and their families can attend the ten 90-minute sessions based in health and wellbeing centres and leisure centres across the county to find out about nutrition, food groups, portion sizes, food labelling, physical activity and making healthier choices a habit. Once the programme is completed families will be supported to continue their healthy lifestyles.

Theory and practical elements, including a supermarket sweep style hunt for healthy food labels, are mixed together to make the sessions fun and informative.
