Wiltshire secondary schools invited to take part in More Good Days At School Study

Thursday 21st September 2023

Schools are being recruited in Kent, Slough and Wiltshire for the More Good Days at School Study

Mainstream secondary schools in Kent, Slough and Wiltshire are invited to take part in the More Good Days at School study, co-funded by the Youth Endowment Fund and the Home Office.

This national research study will look at how schools can support young people’s wellbeing, no matter what trauma they may have experienced in the past or are currently struggling with.

Through a randomised control trial, 100 mainstream secondary schools will identify whether those staff informed and trained to respond to trauma are able to better support students’ wellbeing, in comparison to current wellbeing support already in place.

All schools will continue their existing wellbeing programmes, with half of the schools in the study offered additional staff training. This will enable them to work with pupils differently, learning about how young people who have experienced trauma might be impacted.

The findings will be used to inform how schools support the wellbeing of their pupils in the future.
