Wiltshire Health Related Behaviour Survey

Thursday 1st December 2011

During November over 40 Wiltshire schools took part in the 2011 Wiltshire Health Related Behaviour Survey. This national survey, undertaken by Wiltshire every few years, provides schools and local services with a wide range of data on the health related behaviour of children and young people in Wiltshire.

This information is used to inform the development of local services.  It also provides the schools who take part with data about their children to identify current health priorities that can be addressed through PSHE Education and through other Healthy Schools activities.

Comparing the current Wiltshire data with both the national picture and previous local surveys, enables the monitoring of local health trends.

The 2011 survey has been funded by NHS Wiltshire, administered by The Schools Health Education Unit in Exeter. Wiltshire schools were recruited by the Wiltshire Council Personal Development Education Advisers.

Although schools will be provided with their data on completion, we will be providing a summary of the results and key findings early next year.

Thank you to all the schools who took part this year.
