Wiltshire Children and Young People's Emotional Wellbeing Survey 2024

Wednesday 15th November 2023

As a Council we want to share with you details of the formal launch of a new Wiltshire Children and Young People's Emotional Wellbeing Survey

We have thought very carefully this year about the timing and content to make this as useful for schools and the Council as possible in terms of assessing themes and trends. We have also recognised the need to gather data more regularly on the emotional wellbeing needs of children and young people knowing how crucial emotional wellbeing is to learn effectively.  The purpose of the survey is twofold: 1) to support school self-evaluation alongside academic performance data which is published in the Summer, and 2) to provide population health level data to inform local strategic developments and targeting of resources.

The survey will be short in length using a subset of questions from the more extensive Wiltshire Children and Young People's Health and Wellbeing Survey with which you may be familiar (last undertaken in 2021).

The plan is for the survey to be completed in the Spring Term between 19th February and 20th March 2024 by the following year groups: 4, 5, 6, 8, 10,12 and all students in FE settings. School specific reports will be issued during the second half of the Summer Term and a Wiltshire area report will be published later in the year.  We will be operating an opt out model this year, so are assuming that all schools will want to participate
