South West HBT anti-bullying event in Portishead

Friday 19th February 2016

Schools in the South & Midlands are invited to attend a free launch event of a homophobic, biphobic & transphobic (HBT) bullying prevention programme on Wednesday 16th March in Portishead, North Somerset.

The event 'Inspiring Equality in Education' is being organised by EACH (Educational Action Challenging Homophobia). This Department for Education-funded programme, in which the PSHE Association is a partner, helps teachers and pupils to challenge HBT bullying.

The event will launch the outcomes of the partnership's work with ten West of England schools, their new schools’ resource and a trans education film. Teachers will get a first look at these resources while pupils who attend will have the opportunity to share ideas with peers, and gain confidence in challenging bullying in their school.

The event takes place on Wednesday 16th March from 10 am until 1.30 pm at Gordano School Sixth Form Centre in Portishead, North Somerset.

Free refreshments and lunch will be provided. Schools can book a free place, as well as places for two pupils who play an active role in promoting equality in their school by emailing EACH at info@each.education or by phoning them on 0117 946 7607.
