Government statement on PSHE

Today the Government have responded to concerns raised by the Education Select Committee in February 2015 about PSHE, including SRE. 

Although the Government will not be implementing the proposal for making PSHE statutory, they do make clear that they expect all schools to be making good provision for PSHE, which they want to be taught by well trained and well supported staff.    

Over the next few months a national working party will be developing an action plan, recommendations, a PSHE toolkit and will be considering updating the SRE guidance.
