Free gaming and gambling online training

Wednesday 2nd September 2020

With schools now preparing for the start of a new term YGAM are keen to get practitioners trained in spotting the signs of Gaming & Gambling disorder in young people and having a good understanding of the potential harms.

This is especially crucial at the moment as many of your young people will undoubtedly have had a big increase in their screen time over lockdown and may experience difficulties transitioning back into a school routine.

YGAM offer FREE online webinars which will cover the following topics –

  • The signs to look out for when an individual is at risk and where to seek help
  • How young people growing up in a tech-savvy environment are increasingly exposed to gaming and gambling and how these activities have become normalised and are part of everyday culture in this country
  • The influence of advertising, particularly around sporting events, and how this has drifted across into the online world
  • The role of social media, in game purchases, loot boxes and Esports
  • Resources for practitioners to deliver

You can choose to join in with any session that suits your timescales or we can offer a bespoke webinar to a larger cohort of your staff if you feel this may be appropriate.
