Inclusion - Everybody's Business (promoting inclusive Education)

Tuesday 22nd October 2013

The day will inspire and provide:

  • A Key Note Speech by Christine Lenehan OBE – Director of the Council for Disabled Children – Schools and Families working together
  • A session from Dr. David Skidmore from Bath University - who has written extensively on models of Inclusive Education
  • A Celebration of Best Inclusive Practice from four Wiltshire Schools
  • Afternoon presentations focusing on the Inclusive use of therapeutic writing, and ICT from the Inspire, Create, Teach! project
  • The Launch of the Local Authority Inclusion Strategy – including Disability Access and SEND – and will include an overview of a schools’ Inclusion template to be developed

Unseen Children - Practical responses to Ofsted's latest report

With input from: 

  • Tom Winskill, Senior HMI (SW), presenting the Key Themes from the recent Unseen Children Report
  • Dr Mike Treadaway from Fischer Family Trust, discussing what the data shows, and what the issues are for specific groups of disadvantaged pupils
  • Phil Beadle, (Channel 4's 'Unteachables' & Teacher's TV presenter) will focus on the conviction that all education must be ‘Education without failure’
  • Nick Aslett, SW Regional Lead for Achievement for All
