Getting pupils involved: The Wiltshire Council Voice & Influence team

The Wiltshire Council Voice & Influence Team works with children, young people and families throughout the county on a wide range of participation and involvement activities. They run regular groups and events (such as the Wiltshire Assembly of Youth, Children in Care Council and Local Democracy week) as well as one-off events or projects.
Wiltshire Council is committed to involving children and young people in important decisions that affect their lives. The Voice & Influence Team works to make this happen.
The V&I Team has worked in many schools, be it directly or by asking schools to complete participation work. Pupils have worked with the Team on projects such as ASSIST, creating child or young people-friendly documents and developing the Wiltshire Children & Young People’s Plan.
The V&I Team can support schools with pupil participation and involvement work. A member of the Team can offer advice or perhaps come into school to help with school council work, pupil involvement in recruitment or any general participation work.
If your school would like support with any participation work, or if you think your school would be interested in being involved with any of the Voice & Influence Team’s participation projects, please contact:
